Homecoming is a great opportunity to meet old friends you haven’t seen for quite a while. It’s a good time to visit your alma mater and see all the changes that has taken place since the last time you were there.
Yes, homecoming is really an exciting occasion that is always looked forward with great anticipation.
But, let’s face the truth, not everybody feels that way towards homecoming.
“What’s in it for me?” “Oh, no! No way! I haven’t anything to boast. I can’t stand up to all those doctors and engineers batch mate of mine.” “Do I really need to? I don’t feel like it.”
Honestly, there could be a thousand-and-one reasons for not attending the homecoming, but you only need one to do so. To reconnect with old friends.
It matters not whether you weren’t as successful as your former classmates, homecomings were not created to gauge how far you have been, what type of car you’re driving or how many countries you have been to.
Homecoming is in fact a venue where EVERYONE IS EQUAL!
Accountants, drivers, engineers, vendors, teachers, messengers, doctors, janitors, businessmen, or even just a plain housewife, each one may have a different title and occupation, but each one share a common denominator – you are all ALUMNI!
Reason enough for you to be there.
I could go on and stress the importance of homecoming, and describe the joy that one feels meeting former schoolmates.
But I’ll stop here and call on everyone – why do you think homecoming is important?
